What’s it going to take for F1 to make the big time in the US?

In a new podcast by The Red Bulletin, host Andrew Lawrence (The Guardian, Sports Illustrated, Car & Driver) explores the history, people, technology, and fandom that has catapulted what was once considered a niche showcase in America to a must-see event.

In addition to co-producing this series, I mixed and edited each episode.

“I want to make a poster that has as many languages as possible, so we can make everyone feel included.”

Wrote, edited, and mixed a mini-podcast series for Soft Power Vote, an independent civic engagement initiative that I cofounded. It features narrative interviews with activists, policy wonks, and designers breathing new life into the 2021 New York City June Primary. Featuring Jiar Zeman, Aledia Gagarin, and Elizabeth Adams.

“I think music should be an escape.”

What if your solo debut album dropped the same weekend as COVID-19? Well, that happened to Mauricio Escamilla, MOWRI, last year. This special episode of New Latin Wave offers a look into MOWRI’s creative process and some of the inspiration behind his debut solo album, ANTIFAZ. The episode takes place in March and December of 2020.

Written and edited by Melissa Saenz Gordon for New Latin Wave, with additional recordings by MOWRI. The songs featured are from the ANTIFAZ album, and include: Solus, Won’t You Groove, Follow You, Qui es-tu, and Black Wish.

“Being an artist is not a cakewalk.”

Marlos E’van is a 29-year-old contemporary artist living and working in North Nashville, who uses painting, performance, and social practice to uplift his community. Driving around North Nashville, Marlos discusses the difficulty of growing up in Mississippi without access to the arts and how this inspires his practice and motivates his involvement with the youth. This piece explores an artist’s journey, and the challenges of being an artist today.

Produced for the Transom Traveling Workshop at WPLN, Nashville, TN.
